Personal statement

I’m Chris and I’m one of the founding members of Create IT. My role here as Managing Director takes me across the whole business so no doubt if you’re thinking of  becoming a customer, or already are one, we’ll interact with each other.

I’m a big fan of process and procedure and love to see IT solutions in action solving business issues and increasing our customer’s bottom-line. I’m very much a believer in ‘the right solution, the first time’, and making a business better, more efficient and ultimately more profitable through the use of IT, rather than IT for IT’s sake. Service and delivery are at the forefront of my mind at all times and there is never a hard-sell from any of Create IT’s staff, we are a business that serves first and sells second and this approach has seen us grow organically year-on-year in an extremely sustainable way.

When I’m not in the office I can usually be found on a bike somewhere!

My IT career started way back in 1999 within a large telecoms company based in Docklands. I started on the ground floor and worked my way up through several different companies, holding roles from Junior Support Analyst to Group Head of IT before breaking out on my own along with Andrew and Ben to start Create IT.

Core skills

Having worked in telecoms, new startups, new media, recruitment and high-tech manufacturing sectors I have built up a lot of business analysis experience, and within that have focused predominantly upon the following:

  • Solutions Architecture
  • Cloud
  • Systems Management
  • Implementation and Change.

My favourite projects at Create IT

There are so many to choose from! Generally, my favourite projects are one’s where we’re taking a customer with a fairly aged infrastructure, that have a few disparate systems and move them into the Cloud with a number of integrated services, such as Hosted security systems, applications and communications. Providing a unified solution to a number of different or similar businesses, perhaps who have come together as a group through an acquisition activity, is a particularly interesting and challenging project for me that I relish the opportunity to work with.
